Pterygium Treatment

About

What is Pterygium ?

Pterygium treatment focuses on managing the growth of a pterygium, a non-cancerous, wedge-shaped tissue that extends from the conjunctiva onto the cornea. Commonly known as "surfer’s eye," it is often caused by prolonged exposure to UV rays, wind, dust, and dry conditions. While mild cases may not require treatment, larger or symptomatic pterygia may need medical or surgical intervention to prevent vision impairment and discomfort. Artificial tears or ointments help reduce dryness, irritation, and redness.
